How to get here
Located next to the beautiful town of Lagos, in Luz and in Sagres, there are many ways to get to us by plan, car, train or bus.
We book your transfer Faro airport – Surf Mansion/Luz (Family Apartments) /Lagos (Hostel or Apartments)– Faro airport with a Portuguese transfer agency. The driver will pick you up with a name sign and bring you straight to the surf camp (approx. 1 hour).

You can also find cheap shuttle services online. We do not want to recommend or advise against them as we do not know anything about their reliability.

A cheap and easy way of traveling to our surfcamps is by public transport. You can take a taxi at Faro airport to the bus station/ train station for about 10€ or take a bus for around 2€.
The bus will be around 6€ and takes approx. 2h 10min to get to Lagos. The bus station in Lagos is right on the Avenida dos Descobrimentos.
The train will be around 8€ and the journey will take approx. 1h 40min. The train station in Lagos is just behind the marina and it is only a very short walk across the marina bridge to the Avenida dos Descobrimentos.
For Surf Mansion guests: tell us a week before your arrival in Lagos when you will arrive and we pick you up. If we somehow cannot manage to pick you up, a cab ride to the Surf Mansion is approx. 12€ only.

Many guests decide to fly to Lisbon because they want to visit the capital of Portugal or because of cheap flights. The easiest ways to travel from Lisbon to Lagos are by car or by bus.
The trip by car will take around 3 hours. Rental cars are reasonably priced in Portugal, but if you book one of our surf packages, you don’t really need a car during your holidays.
The buses from Lisbon bus station to Lagos bus station cost 20€ each way and take approx. 4 hours. They have AC and Wi-Fi.
For Surf Mansion guests: upon your arrival in Lagos, just give us a call and we will pick you up. If it is not possible for us to come, you can take a taxi which will only cost around 12€ to Vila Catarina.

From the motorway you take exit to N125/ Lagos/ Vila do Bispo and you will get to a roundabout leading to Lagos. Take the exit to Vila do Bispo/Luz and then take the second street up to the right and then make a right. After a few hundred meters, the Surf Mansion will be on the right side.

Coming from Lisbon, Portugal
Many guests decide to fly to Lisbon because they want to visit the capital of Portugal or because of cheap flights. The easiest ways to travel from Lisbon to Sagres are by car or by bus.
The bus will take you to Sagres in about 4 hours and costs €23 one way. They have AC and Wi-Fi.
The trip by car will take around 3,5 hours (toll roads included). You can park your car, free of charge, in the area around the villa.
Coming from Faro airport
You can take a taxi at Faro airport to the bus station/ train station in Lagos for about 10€ or take a bus for around 2€. The bus will be around 6€ and takes approx. 2h 10min to get to Lagos. The bus station in Lagos is right on the Avenida dos Descobrimentos.
The train will be around 8€ and the journey will take approx. 1h 40min. The train station in Lagos is just behind the marina and it is only a very short walk across the marina bridge to the Avenida dos Descobrimentos.
From the bus station in Lagos you can take a bus directly to Sagres. It takes 30-50 minutes and costs about €6.
With a rental car you are in Sagres in about 1,5 hours (toll roads included). You can park your car, free of charge, in the area around the villa.

Coming from Faro airport:
Once you are at the roundabout leading to the motorway, head into the direction of Sagres and Vila do Bispo on the N 125. You will soon get into a newly built roundabout (directions: Lagos/A22; Funchal; Vila do Bispo/Sagres; Luz). Take the exit to “Luz” (the one after the exit to “Sagres/Vila do Bispo”) and stay on that road. After 5 minutes, you will see white buildings on the left-hand side and at the entrance you see a small sign „Quinta Formosinho“. That’s your base for the next days. If you drive past the brown sign „Praia“, you have missed us, because we are located 100m in front of the sign.

Coming from Faro airport:
From the motorway take exit no.1 in direction of N125/Lagos/ Vila do Bispo and stay on this street. You will get to a round about where you take the second exit (Lagos sul) and in the next round about after 800m take the 3rd exit direction N125/ Lagos.
After 700m the road will lead you to another round about where you take the first exit (R.Frederico Rato). After 220m in a small round about take the 3rd exit and directly turn right into a small street (Beco da Ameijerinha). Casa Vale do Mar is the first house on your right side. Welcome!

The Surf Hostel is situated in the center of the old town. The address is: Rua Mendonça Pessanha, N.º 27 – 8600-607 – Lagos – Algarve – Portugal. Please find it here on google maps.
Please note that you probably will not be able to park your car directly in front of the hostel as it is situated in a narrow street.
The Surf Experience is a family affair and staying at the Surf Mansion is a perfect chance to participate in the surf culture on all levels.
